New Discount Program - launching March 16, 2026

What is the new Discount Program?

The Appalachian Wireless Discount Program has been updated to expand savings to more eligible customers while aligning with current plan offerings.

The program now includes discounts for a broader range of groups, including:

· First Responders
· Military (Active Duty, Veterans, and Retired)
· Federal Government Employees
· State, City, and County Employees
· Premier Business Employees
· College Students
· Customers Age 60+

Most discounts are verified securely through VerifyPass, while employer-based discounts for State, City, County, and Premier Business Employees continue to be verified through an eligible work email address.

As current participants in the previous discount program reach their annual recertification, they will transition into the updated program. This phased approach allows customers to move to the new structure while maintaining their eligibility.

How is the new Discount Program different from the previous program?

Our previous discount program offered 20% off both the access fee and the data feature for up to 10 lines on Mix & Match and Unlimited plans.

The updated program focuses on qualifying Unlimited plans only and provides a 20% discount on the data portion of the plan for up to five lines per account.

This updated structure allows Appalachian Wireless to expand discount eligibility to additional groups, including college students, military members, veterans, first responders, and customers age 60+, while continuing to offer savings to government and employer groups.

Current customers will remain on their existing discount until their annual recertification date, at which time they will transition to the updated program.

What is VerifyPass?

VerifyPass is a secure verification service we use to confirm eligibility for certain discounted plans and promotions. It allows customers to quickly prove they qualify without sharing sensitive information directly with us.

Why do I need to use VerifyPass?

Some discounts are limited to specific groups (such as First Responders, Students, or Age 60+). VerifyPass helps ensure these discounts are applied fairly and accurately while protecting personal data.

What qualifies as a First Responder?

First Responders generally include:

· Law enforcement officers
· Firefighters
· EMTs and paramedics

Eligibility is determined by VerifyPass based on documentation or employment verification.

What information is required to verify?

Verification requirements vary by discount type but may include:

· Employment or organization affiliation
· School enrollment confirmation
· Date of birth (for age-based discounts)

VerifyPass reviews this information securely and only confirms our eligibility status—not personal details.

How long does verification take?

Most verifications are completed within a few minutes. In some cases, additional review may be needed, which can take up to 24–48 hours.

Do I need to re-verify?

Yes, some discounts require periodic re-verification (usually annually) to ensure eligibility is still valid. VerifyPass will notify customers when re-verification is needed.

      · Miliary, Veterans, and 60+ categories will not need to re-verify eligibility.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. VerifyPass uses secure systems to protect personal data. We only receive confirmation of eligibility—not documents or sensitive information.

What if I can’t verify right away?

Customers can still proceed with service setup. However, the discount will not be applied until verification is successfully completed.

What happens if verification is denied?

If verification is unsuccessful:

· The discount will not be applied
· Customers may retry verification
· Reach out to VerifyPass support for assistance help@verifypass.com

Can Appalachian Wireless verify customers manually?

No. All eligibility verification must be completed through VerifyPass. This ensures consistency, compliance, and data security.

Who should customers contact for verification issues?

Customers should contact VerifyPass Support directly through the VerifyPass portal for help with documentation or verification status.

How are State, City, or County Employees verified?

State, City, and County Employee discounts — including Premier Business Employees — are not verified through VerifyPass.
These discounts will continue to be verified using an eligible employer or employee email address, just as they are today.

How do I sign up for a verified discount?

All customers must sign up for eligible discounts through their Self Care account.
Verification steps will be presented during the signup process, depending on the selected discount.

Billing tab -> Discounts -> Page that lists off which discount they will want to apply for with examples of each -> They will be directed to the Employee Partners section or Verify Pass section, depending on which one they choose
